11+ Entrance Exam Preparation
Preparing thoroughly for selective entrance exams to grammar schools is essential for success. We focus on strengthening key skills in English, Maths, Verbal Reasoning, and Non-Verbal Reasoning through targeted practice, tailored lessons, and proven exam strategies.
To give children the best chance of scoring highly and feeling confident on exam day, preparation ideally begins at least 12 months in advance. Starting early allows for steady progress, in-depth understanding, and plenty of time to build exam technique. For some pupils, beginning even earlier can provide additional support to address gaps and develop core skills with ease.
KS1 - Years 1 & 2
Starting formal education is a big step for young children, and the expectations can feel overwhelming. Many pupils are expected to master reading, writing, and maths skills quickly—and some may begin to fall behind before they’ve had time to settle.
Charlotte provides gentle, tailored support to help children build a strong foundation in English, Reading and Maths, boosting their skills and confidence from the start.
Early intervention is key. With the right support in place, children can overcome early challenges and reach their full potential—while enjoying their learning along the way.
KS2 - Years 3-6
Years 3 to 6 are crucial for deepening understanding in core subjects like English, Maths, and Science. During this time, children face more complex concepts and greater expectations, which can sometimes feel challenging.
Charlotte provides personalised lessons that build strong foundational skills while fostering confidence and independence. She helps pupils develop effective study habits, improve critical thinking, and strengthen their knowledge through clear explanations and engaging activities.

Diagnostic Tests
A diagnostic test is a great way to identify your child’s current strengths and areas for development before, during, or after 11+ preparation. It provides a clear, data-driven snapshot of how your child is performing in each subject area (English, Maths, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning) and highlights the specific skills they need to focus on next.
After your child completes the test, you’ll receive:
- A detailed Parent PDF Report with scores broken down by topic and question type.
- Personalised feedback and suggested next steps to guide future learning or tuition.
- The option for a short follow-up consultation to discuss results and next steps.
